Etymology

2012 son of NEW APPROACH (IRE) out of WEAVER OF WORDS (GB), ETYMOLOGY enjoyed a very successful racing career before retiring in February of 2020. ETYMOLOGY earned $924,335 during his 40-start career which included success at Stakes level.

In 2017 Meg and Len Foster enquired looking for their perfect retired racehorse. ETYMOLOGY was a horse that they spotted and fell in love with at the races, in April 2020 the long wait paid off.

Now affectionately known as Tim, Meg and Len are delighted with his progress in his retraining. Throughout 2020 Len focused on basic flat work and low-key outings at the local equestrian centre exposing him to new environments.

More recently, Tim has been competing in jumping and dressage showing immense improvement at each outing. Tim continues to improve in his behaviour and relaxed attitude towards travelling, settling at the event and in his ridden work, now holding a consistent collected frame.

“We are so happy with him. He is a horse that just continues to try to please” said Meg
