Haptic

HAPTIC (AUS), son of the great Darley stallion EXCEED AND EXCEL (AUS) out of TROUBEAUT (AUS) was foaled in 2012. He commenced his racing career as a successful 2yo, winning his first 2 starts. He followed with a brilliant 3yo year placing at Group 3 and listed level before retiring in 2016. From HAPTIC’s 7-start career, he retired with $224,500 in prizemoney.

HAPTIC retired to the farm where he enjoyed quite an extended spell before finding his forever home with Meegan Abbey in February 2021. Each horse offered for rehoming is advertised privately with all of their pertinent information including temperament, photos, height and even their full veterinary history with an expected exercise intensity rating we believe they are most suitable for during their second career. After Meegan received this information, she made the 5-hour trek to meet HAPTIC. She loved him and took him home that day.

Now affectionally named Happy, Meegan loves him most for his cheeky, inquisitive nature. “He is such a big smooch and loves a cuddle” said Meegan.

Happy has taken to his new career really well. As with all horses learning a new discipline, he struggled with a few things to start with such as staying straight and relaxing in his work. He is now comfortable working in a dressage frame and loves to go for a hack around the farm.

Meegan is slowly starting to introduce Happy to competitions with a very successful second dressage outing, placing 6th with a brilliant score of 69.42%.

Meegan’s long term goal with Happy is to compete him in eventing alongside her other Off the Track thoroughbred, TRENTPARK (AUS).

We look forward to continuing to follow Meegan & Happy’s success together.
