Moher is a 7-year-old son of Lonhro out of An Chlais. He finished his racing career after 33 starts for 7 wins, 4 seconds and 5 thirds, which included placings at listed and Group level races. Moher retired from racing with a total of $479,285 prizemoney in July of 2018.
After a short spell at Kelvinside, Moher, now affectionately known as Sam, was gifted to long term Godolphin employee Reg Fleming. Sam was retrained and campaigned throughout his first show season with Sheralee Patterson, which was brought to an unfortunate end due to the outbreak of COVID 19! Throughout his first show season (2019/2020) Sam competed in 6 shows gaining qualification at each event securing a ticket into Adelaide Royal and only one qualification off qualifying for Melbourne and Sydney Royals.
It is only very early days for Sam in his show career and he is leaps and bounds ahead of where he should be in the short amount of time he has been training and competing. Sam will now enjoy a well-deserved break!
Reg visits Sam regularly and spoils him with copious amounts of carrots at every opportunity he gets:
“As long as they have a good life, that is all that matters to me. They did great things for me whilst in racing and now it’s my turn to repay the favour”.
